Every other year the Section awards this prize to a junior scientist for her or his outstanding Diploma, Bachelor or Masters Thesis. The prize can be devided: see German

The company Biomaris sponsored the Student as well as the Ernst-Georg-Pringsheim-Award 2008 for the first time.
